Among other things, we've released brand-new modules for project planning and lending. On top of that, inventory has become even smarter! ## A brand-new project module In September we presented our new project module, a new add-on in Palats that makes reuse easy in large-scale projects. During the spring we talked to our users to better understand where problems arise when projects are carried out with reused items, and we brought those lessons into our new project module. In short, the new project module focuses on: - One workspace for the project. Instead of jumping between different parts of the system, everything is now in one place. - Clearer decisions on the outcome for existing inventory. What will we reuse, and what do we do with what isn't reused? - Easier planning of the new site. See all placed items in one place. - Book from the marketplace to the project. Everyone in the project can see what has been reserved and place the items at the new site. - A ready-made project report. What was reused, and what savings were made? When you photograph a piece of furniture during inventory, it can now suggest the exact model that resembles the one you photographed, not just the category. This saves an enormous amount of time when you have a large library of different models! When inventorying new models, there's a lot of information to fill in, such as colours, materials and dimensions. Instead of filling in each field manually, you can now use the microphone and simply talk to Palats as if you were talking to a person. For example, "It's 120 cm wide, 40 cm long, metal base, wooden tabletop" automatically fills in the corresponding fields. Smart, right? ## Book articles for a limited time One way to reduce new purchases is to have a shared pool of articles that the organisation shares. This often applies to tools, event materials and workwear, for example. In Palats you can now offer a shared catalogue of articles that can be booked for a specific time period. Bookings you make are automatically linked to your calendar. Pick-up and return are handled in Palats by an administrator who can follow up on each article, assess its condition and, for example, book cleaning after it's returned. An early version of the booking module is currently being tested by a small group of customers. If several articles are inventoried at exactly the same position on the floor plan, this is now shown as a "special pin" that can be opened to see which articles are located there. It also happens that an article is inventoried on a floor but not placed on the floor plan. This is now clearly shown both on the floor plan and on the article in question. We have several more floor plan improvements in the works, including better tools for drawing zones. To be continued 🙂 ### Other news - **Changes to the requested delivery date at checkout.** Instead of requesting an exact date, the person booking now chooses to receive delivery as soon as possible or *no earlier than* a certain date. We saw that these were really the only two options needed, and that being able to request an exact date often leads to expectations that can't be met. Date selection can also be turned off completely. - **Change the vendor on a listing.** If an article needs to be handled by a different vendor, you previously had to unpublish the old listing and then create a new one, which could be time-consuming. Now you can change the vendor with the click of a button. - **Quickly browse images on the marketplace.** In the list of listings, you can now hover over a listing to see its different images without having to open it. Faster shopping! - **Switch to viewing the full image in gallery view.** When browsing models and articles in the inventory, you sometimes need to see the whole image, especially for elongated things like floor lamps or doors.
